Butterflies are cold-blooded. This means if the temperature drops below 55 degrees the butterfly is unable to move. Ideal flying temperatures for a butterfly is between 82 - 100 degrees. Butterflies are often seen in the mornings either basking in the sunlight or shivering to raise their body temperature. Soon they will be delighting us with their flight.
