This location checklist is for the Huachuca Mountains and the Upper San Pedro River.  The area covered by the checklist is a rectangle of approximately 750 square miles.  This rectangle's southern boundary is a 25 mile long section running east from the Cochise county line.  Go 30 miles north  through Tombstone to the junction of Hereford Road and Highway 92 for the eastern boundary.  The northern edge is an east-west parallel north of Fairbank on the San Pedro River on Highway 82.  The western boundary is the line between Cochise and Santa Cruz counties.  This is prime birding habitat.

The book also has a checklist of the fish, amphibians and reptiles of this area and a checklist of the mammals.

A must have book if you plan to bird watch in southeast Arizona.
